Opportunities are exciting for all of us. But how do we respond to opportunities that we are given? Here are three things you can do when you come across a new opportunity.
1. Be Grateful.
In every opportunity you come across, the first thing to do is to simply give thanks. Give a huge thank you to whoever presented you with the opportunity and, most importantly, give God all the glory and honor. There is a reason in which you were selected for whatever opportunity was presented to you. Certain actions, qualities, and giftings you had separated you from the crowd and were chosen.
2. Just Breathe.
I want you just to take a moment to stop, think, and breathe. It’s easy to say yes to something, but it’s not easy to fully commit. We need to take a moment to think about all the work, hours, and energy it will take to commit to whatever it is that we have been presented with. Practicing this very important component before ever saying yes will definitely save you a heartache.
It can be very easy to over commit yourself and then later find yourself regretting the decision you made. Trust me; if it’s meant to be, you will know it and make it happen no matter what!
3. Stay in your lane!
It's so easy to get distracted in life, especially in today's era. Today, we find ourselves with so much freedom and opportunities at our fingertips that we can easily be thrown off our own course and be taken on a detour only to pull us away from what we are really striving for.
Before this happens to you, analyze the opportunity that is in front of you and make sure that it aligns with your goals, values, and beliefs.Remember that staying in your lane means staying on track with your goals, values, and beliefs.
“Let your yes be a yes, and your no be a no”
